In Traditional

Chinese Medicine it commonly refers to the vital energy that sustains our body as well as the environmental forces around us.  We nourish our internal "qi" through the air that we breath and the food that we eat.

Qi (chi)
Sea of Qi (chi hai)

This business, "Sea of Qi", is named after a specific acupuncture point on the lower abdomen that corresponds to the "dantian" or centre of life-force energy.  This is a pivotal focal point in self-cultivation practices to promote a healthy body and in the control of thoughts and emotions. In ancient Chinese philosophy, "Sea of Qi" encompasses various abstract concepts.

Anthea is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner (AHPRA/CMBA) with a passion for helping to relieve discomfort or pain and restoring health.

Although addressing a range of general and chronic disorders (both musculo-skeletal and internal), she works regularly with  women's health concerns.  Menstrual issues such as pain or hormone regulation are addressed. Through her additional practical training in IVF  and ART support, she is able to work closely with gynaecologists and obstetricians to receive the best results for the client.

As the owner and main practitioner at Sea of Qi Acupuncture, Anthea believes firmly in freely imparting knowledge with regards to the Chinese medicine framework, whilst working with other medical practitioners to develop a treatment strategy that helps to manage a client’s own healthcare.

She is continually furthering her own knowledge though regular acupuncture seminars, professional forums and private study.
