Your initial consultation at Sea of Qi can last up to 75 minutes and will assess your existing complaints and general medical history, whilst developing an appropriate treatment strategy. This will be followed by a preliminary acupuncture treatment, which (with client consent) may include any of the treatment options listed.

Fine needles are inserted into the skin at specific points along what are considered to be lines of flow (meridians) throughout the body. Stimulation of specific acupuncture points helps to correct homeostatic imbalances.
This is a very old treatment technique using specially designed cups to create local suction on the skin. It promotes blood flow whilst relieving any tension. In combination with the use of oil it can also be used as a relaxing massage technique.
One of the oldest forms of Chinese medical treatment moxibustion is a traditional therapy using dried mugwort leaves (moxa). It indirectly warms and stimulates various acupuncture points in order to speed up the healing process and reduce painful symptoms.
It has also been used to turn breech babies.
This is simply acupuncture with the added stimulation of a mild electric current created between two needles and is often used to reduce the symptoms of stiff muscles or acute pain.
A mixture of acupuncture, massage and electro-stimulation will be used to encourage a deep state of relaxation whilst stimulating acupoints known to encourage conditions optimal for labour.
